Battle Report - Warhammer 30k - World Eaters vs Dark Mechanicum

First lesson learnt for the day is don't use Internet Explorer. I finally cracked and have been using Chrome for the last hour or so and it hasn't crashed once = hooray.

I was attempting to upload our first rudimentary Battle Report onto my new WW40k Australia You Tube channel and spent as long fighting with IE crashing as I did splicing the clips together.

Rant over.

Keepy from A GALAXY IN FLAMES and I had our first offical 30k game at WW40k HQ in Townsville, QLD today.

WW40k for those new to the blog is the wargaming group I founded a few years back. To see what we get up to please head over to our website WW40k AUSTRALIA.

It was a fun experience and one that both Keepy and I are very keen to explore and improve on on the future.

Have a watch and feel free to leave comments.

Please also enjoy the stills taken through out the game below.

Thats all for now.

Cheers and good gaming

Tactical Marines........ The First Ten and the Eve of Battle.

After a hard slog today I finally have the first ten Tactical Marines good to go for a 1000 Point 30k game against my good mate Keepy from A GALAXY IN FLAMES.

I must admit I am being a little dodgy and only running one troops choice tomorrow, but being that I am up against Keepy's Mechanicum Army I am pretty sure it wont matter at these points.

I will take heaps of pics of our game tomorrow down at WW40k Australia HQ in Townsville Queensland and upload a bit of a battle report so you can all chuckle at the World Eaters getting shot apart by robots :)

I have thirty more Tactical Marines all inked up done In white ready for colour, but will not get to them until next week.

In lieu of having more Marines on the field and to ensure that I had the required 1000 Points for tomorrow I quickly splashed some colour on and repainted a dodgy Autocannon Contemptor that I had lying around. I call him Hunchy as it looks like he is shooting the dirt hunched over.

Either way win or lose It will be fun tomorrow to see to fully painted 30k armies roll some dice.

Good luck Keepy and may the sexier man win.

Oh yeah.... I added some grass to the bases. I am happy with it and it will stay me thinks.

Cheers and good gaming

Ty

Terminators and lessons learn't...

Finished. That said these models were a hard slog.

I forgot how much I dislike batch painting even though it is the most efficent way. Even painting while watching Arnie barely motivated me last night to puch through. That said its done now and I pretty happy.

I think that I will maintain the inital colouring and shading in squad size batches, but then shift to doing three at a time to dirty them up and finishing to give me a little reward by seeing a few minis fully finished each day or two.

I am on track to having a 1000 Points done in time for International Tabletop day (Apr 5) and the 30k demo that myself and my mate Keepy from A GALAXY IN FLAMES will be putting on for the lads here is Townsville.

As for the minis themselves - I am going to try and find some easier ways to get the sponging done as I am all thumbs at the moment - even with tweezers - and think that its a bit heavy.

Practise will hopefully fix it.

I might add some little weeds or tuffs of grass to the bases. Will wait and see.

Cheers

Ty
